If an individual completes a CME or other accredited activity on TotalMedEd.com, we are required by the AMA, and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), or any other accrediting organizations, to collect personal information on the individual, such as their name, address, and phone number, that will allow us to issue a CME/CE/CNE Certificate to them and to keep this information on file for up to 6 years.
Personal information provided to TotalMedEd.com will be used only to meet AMA and ACCME requirements and to issue CME/CE/CNE Certificates to those who complete these educational activities. Information gathered on individuals who complete a CME/CE/CNE activity on TotalMedEd.com is stored in a secure database. We use these databases to verify individual participation in a CME/CE/CNE activity and to re-issue a certificate to an individual if the certificate is lost or misplaced.
Personal information gathered will not be released to any other company or organization for any purpose. This information remains totally confidential. At the end of the mandatory 6-year period, these records will be permanently destroyed.
TotalMedEd.com analyzes usage statistics. This allows us to determine, in aggregate, what pages people visit, what browsers are used to access the Web site, what pages are visited, and how viewers found us on the Internet, eg, through use of a search engine. This helps us determine what portions of the site are important to our users and how they found us so we can better meet the needs of our users.
