Utilize evidence-based strategies to make a case-based diagnosis of a patient suffering an acute attack of gout
Identify how to control inflammation and pain and how to provide prophylaxis against further attacks
  •   Interpret when it is beneficial to start serum urate–lowering medication to benefit the individual patient with a history of acute gouty attacks
  •   Implement an appropriate treatment plan, including patient education, to provide appropriate long-term care for patients with gout
